All gifts will be issued an electronic charitable tax receipt from Fanshawe College Foundation.
We respect your privacy; therefore, you will have the option to hide your name and the amount you donate. However, selecting these options doesn’t mean your donation is anonymous to Fanshawe College, and you will receive the applicable tax receipt.
All donors will be contacted once each campaign is finished with a final status and official tally.

Individuals with an affinity to Fanshawe – whether it be students, staff, faculty, alumni or friend of the College – who are passionate about unlocking student potential. FanshaweFunder Champions care about the future of Fanshawe. They appreciate the impact Fanshawe has had on their lives and/or their community and want to give back in a special way to ensure the school is always in a position to offer the brightest future for students. They mobilize the Fanshawe community to come together and not only raise awareness of causes, but establish fundraising campaigns in support of the very causes that will ultimately enhance Fanshawe’s student experience.
Fanshawe’s Advancement & Alumni Office established FanshaweFunder in response to students, staff, faculty and alumni who have expressed the need for support of individual fundraising campaigns that benefit Fanshawe. Our goal is to foster a culture of generosity and giving at Fanshawe made possible with our convenient crowdfunding tool.
FanshaweFunder is operated by Fanshawe College Foundation, a registered Canadian charity #BN82994 2168 RR001.
It depends on the project. However, campaign eligibility requires that funds raised support student learning and success at Fanshawe and/or align with the College’s strategic goals. Projects which are designed to directly benefit one student are not suitable for FanshaweFunder.

Successful fundraising takes time, effort and drive. While we permit individuals to implement FanshaweFunder campaigns alone, the chances of reaching your fundraising goal is far greater with a strong team of passionate supporters behind you to help execute and promote the campaign across all your networks.
We typically recommend a Campaign Lead set aside 1-2 months to plan and prepare prior to campaign launch. A good rule of thumb is to apply at least 3-4 months before funding is required. This should give you the time to apply, be approved, plan and implement your campaign.
Short-term projects (approximately 1-2 months) have demonstrated the best fundraising results with this type of crowdfunding approach. However, the length of your campaign will depend on the nature of your fundraising campaign. Our fundraising team would be happy to discuss your options with you.
That’s up to you! We don’t set limits, however it’s important to understand the funding required to support your particular initiative while at the same time being realistic about what you’re able to fundraise. Typical FanshaweFunder campaigns will raise $2,000 – $20,000.
Absolutely. While each campaign is the responsibility of the Campaign Lead and/or team, our team of professional fundraisers are here to support you and provide expertise and campaign coaching as needed.
There are never any fees collected from our FanshaweFunder Champions.
