Fanshawe Emergency Student Fund

Summary

The COVID-19 crisis has altered the way we all live and disrupted the lives of millions around the world – including Fanshawe students. This pandemic has forced Fanshawe to close its doors to students and move to online-delivery, leaving many students facing new economic hardships and anxieties they never anticipated.

Fanshawe College has established the Fanshawe Emergency Student Fund with an initial contribution of $1.5 million to provide short-term support for current students who are experiencing unforeseen financial challenges. Students who are out-of-work, have unexpected health and wellness expenses, incurred additional expenses for online learning or are struggling to pay for food or rent, will be able to access this emergency fund for immediate assistance.

Vision

Doing everything we can to support our students, in every way possible.

In addition to Fanshawe’s investment in the Emergency Student Fund, the Fanshawe College Alumni Association has established a Matching Campaign of up to $100,000 in support of Fanshawe’s Emergency Student Fund. Further, the Fanshawe Student Union has pledged to match the dollars raised from this Campaign. This means for every $1 you donate via this campaign, $4 will go back into the pockets of students.

Impact

This is just the beginning.

The Fanshawe community has truly come together during this unprecedented, global event. The College has donated life-saving critical care ventilators and other medical supplies to local hospitals. Several dozen Respiratory Therapy students have even left their studies early to work on the frontlines.

As Fanshawe has been there for our community, it’s time for us to be there for our students when they need it the most. Which is why we are asking for your help.
With your support, students will receive immediate funding to ensure they have the resources and support needed to continue their online studies and achieve academic success.

Thank you for doing your part to help Fanshawe students during these challenging times.
